After the previous activities in collaboration with Lakeside Disabled “Rights Advocacy in Dambai (VR, see completed projects) and the Orthopedic Training Center in Nsawam (see completed projects), funds have been made available to support individual young people through an operation. These are performed by Dutch surgeons who regularly visit Ghana. In 2019, our contact person Esther Dankwah of the Esther Dankwah Foundation visited Ghana and identified special needs children who qualify. On the picture you can see Esther visiting the young (deaf) Osman Hawa in her school. This young girl was born with misalignments of both feet and for that reason could only walk with crutches. Help Ghana paid for the operation, the ambulance transport to the hospital, the travel costs of the supporting family and the necessary rehabilitation. Furthermore, a donation was made to the Nsawam OTC day care centre, where children are collected from their homes to receive dedicated physiotherapy.
