The Esther Dankwah Foundation in The Netherlands has made a request to support the Sekondi School for the Deaf near Takoradi. During one of her recent visits to Ghana, Esther became aware that the boarded children do not have sufficient facilities in their housing situation. She started a campaign in Holland to make the local acquisition a hundred matrasses possible, to be donated for the children. These are now becoming available and we as Help Ghana Foundation were eager to step in and assist in both the purchase and the transportation to Takoradi.

Esther is a very committed counterpart and we wholly subscribe to her initiative. We will publish pictures from the school as soon as we receive them. The School for the Deaf has a total student population of 400 comprising 185 boys and 215 girls. The school has a Nursery, Primary and Junior High School, and it takes part in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
