It is difficult for many hairdressers and beauticians in the Eastern Region to generate sufficient income. They are therefore often looking for opportunities to earn some extra money.

For that reason, the Compassion4Humanity foundation in Adawso has set up a training course where up to 20 women have learned to make liquid soap. They have been trained in both soap production and bookkeeping.

Help Ghana has financed this training and provided the women with microcredit after the training. This has enabled them to make and sell the soap at home or in their salon. The microcredit that flowed back to the foundation has been used to train a new group of 20 women.
