Infant mortality in Ghana is about ten times higher than in the Netherlands (32 deaths per 1,000 births). That is why we were pleased when receiving the request from the Cape Coast University Hospital to furnish an intensive care unit for premature babies with medical equipment and baby cods.

In good and intensive consultation between us, the hospital and the Medic foundation, we were able to collect the right equipment. Everything was sent in a big box to Ghana at the start of 2023.

A large and expensive project, totalling more than € 10,000, largely supported by a bequest from the legacy of our late vice-chairman Hans de Bekker and a large amount from the Yellowfin rowing team.
