The Presby Primary School located in Old Asuoyaa, Eastern Region, approached Help Ghana with a twofold request. On the one hand, urinals for both students and staff members were in poor condition, causing inadequate hygienic sanitation facilities. On the other hand, the school lacked sufficient tables and chairs for the KG class. Due to an increase of students on a yearly basis, both situations created a significant challenge for the school board to properly manage its students.
Of the € 1,910 that Help Ghana was able to support, the Presby School managed to get several renovations done within only a couple of months. With support from the local community in providing labour and water during the construction, two urinals have been completed and extra money left was used to also complete the teacher’s urinal. New wooden tables and plastic chairs for the KG class have been bought as well.
