Established in 1984, the Jachie Special Needs Technical Institute provides skill training to students with and without special needs in the Bosomtwe District located in the Ashanti Region. This system of all-inclusive education allows the school to train students with special needs in their demand-driven employable skills. That way, mental or physical challenges do not have to get in the way of an independent and self-supporting life.
In 2020, the Jachie Special Needs Technical Institute got embedded into the Ministry of Education. The school however suffers from sufficient government support to properly deal with the challenges it faces. Among these challenges is the lack of mono desks for students to use. Therefore, the Jachie Special Needs Technical Institute reached out to Help Ghana to ask for support in providing 80 new monodesks.
Given the importance of education, especially for deprived students who would otherwise not enjoy the same educational benefits as their peers, Help Ghana is happy to be of support for the Jachie Special Needs Technical Institute. A donation of € 1,551 has therefore been granted to the school. As a way of skill training, students will help in the production of the 80 monodesks.
