The New Asuoyaa Roman Catholic Primary School located in the Eastern Region reached out to Help Ghana to ask for assistance on renovating one of its classrooms. At the time of applying, the school faced challenges due to leaking roofing sheets and rotten wood constructions. In addition, classrooms were poorly isolated and the windows provided little light for students to comfortably work in. The New Asuoyaa school therefore requested support for the renovation of roofing sheets, floors, facial boards and windows.

Of the € 2,712 that was needed for this renovation, Help Ghana was happy to provide the substantial amount of € 2,000. The other costs needed were provided by the school children’s parents and community members of New Asuoyaa. In addition, parents skilled in carpentry and mason work volunteered to assist in the construction work. Thanks to this communal effort, one classroom has been completed. It now provides a comfortable learning environment that meets the needs of the school’s teachers and students.
