Naaha D/A Junior High School, located in the far northwest of Ghana’s Upper West Region, has seen a significant increase in student numbers since the introduction of free education. The school now has 150 learners, but only 17 dual desks (two-seaters) available. As a result, many students must stand, sit on the floor or share a seat during lessons.

The Parent-Teacher Association of the school has already taken an important step by raising funds for ten additional dual desks. Even so, this remains far from enough to ensure that every student can follow lessons comfortably. Situated in one of the poorest areas of Ghana, the school would benefit greatly from extra support.

We hope to assist by providing at least 35 more desks. A parent who works as a carpenter has kindly offered to build them free of charge, reducing the cost to approximately €50 per desk.

As we approach the Christmas season — a time often associated with giving and creating new opportunities for others — we hope to offer Naaha JHS a positive start to the new year. With your support, we can help ensure that every student has a proper place to learn.
