Kpong Technical Institute is becoming an increasingly vital force in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Founded in 1992 as a vocational training center for women, it has grown into a dynamic technical institute where young people gain practical skills in electrical engineering, construction, carpentry, IT, fashion, cooking, and cosmetology. These skills open doors for students to find work immediately or to start their own businesses, creating a brighter future for themselves and their communities.

Now, KTI urgently needs support to produce eight bunk beds, so the female students no longer have to sleep on the floor – a basic need that makes a huge difference in their daily lives.

In 2023, Help Ghana worked closely and successfully with KTI. Students built new school furniture as part of their curriculum, using materials made possible by donations from Maurits Buskens, then a 5th-year VWO student, and Help Ghana. The project was both practical and educational, showing the incredible value of hands-on initiatives. Maurits has offered to help us raise funds by reaching out to his network to fund these bunk beds.

You can help Maurits make a real difference. By supporting his campaign for bunk beds at Kpong Technical Institute, you help provide these young students with a safe and comfortable place to sleep – something essential for their health and learning. Every contribution, big or small, brings the project closer to becoming a reality and gives the girls a better start each day.
