The Kpong Technical Institute is becoming increasingly important in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Founded in 1992 as a vocational training center for women, it has since grown into a dynamic technical institute where young people gain practical skills in electrical engineering, construction, carpentry, IT, fashion, cooking and cosmetology. These skills enable students to find work immediately or start their own business, creating better opportunities for themselves and their communities.

KTI now urgently needs support to produce eight bunk beds – each consisting of three beds stacked on top of each other – so that female students no longer have to sleep on the floor. A proper bed is not a luxury: it provides rest, comfort and basic safety. Such a simple facility makes an immediate and meaningful difference in their daily lives.

In 2023, Help Ghana worked closely and successfully with KTI. Students built new school furniture as part of their training programme, using materials made possible through donations from Maurits Buskens, then a fifth-year secondary school student, and Help Ghana. The project was both practical and educational and showed the great value of effective collaboration.

Maurits is now enthusiastically working to raise €2000 for this new project and is engaging his own network to help. We are happy to support his commitment and therefore ask you to help him reach this goal.

Every contribution, large or small, brings us closer to the target and shows that together we can truly make a difference.
