The Abosamso Technical Institute offers courses in fields such as electrical engineering, building construction, fashion design, catering, hospitality management, and wood construction for a growing number of students. To support aspiring carpenters, the school planned a dedicated wood workshop. The Help Ghana Foundation was honored to fund this project, providing students with a well-equipped space to develop their skills and fostering a conducive learning environment.

During the execution of the project, the school decided to construct the workshop from bricks instead of wood. This change was made to increase the building’s durability and strength, ensuring it can withstand weather conditions and heavy use over time. As a result, material costs increased, which caused a slight delay in the project.
In consultation with the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and the local community, additional funding was secured to cover the extra costs. Step by step, construction is progressing, bringing the workshop closer to completion and eventual use. Our country manager maintains regular contact with the school to monitor progress and provide support where needed.

This careful planning and collaboration ensure that the workshop will become a safe and sustainable learning and working space for the students and the community, reflecting the shared commitment of the school, PTA, community members, and Help Ghana to the success of the project.Similar to numerous other Technical Schools in Ghana, the Abosamso Technical Institute has witnessed a surge in student enrollment. This institution provides courses in diverse fields such as electrical engineering, building construction, fashion design, catering and hospitality management, and wood construction. For the aspiring carpenters in the wood construction program, the school aspired to establish a dedicated wood workshop. A detailed drawing of the proposed workshop was shared, and the Help Ghana Foundation received the honor of funding this significant project. The Foundation is delighted to support the institute’s vision, providing students with a well-equipped space to hone their carpentry skills and fostering a conducive learning environment for technical education.
